Library

The polytechnic has a four-storey libraray complex manned by a professional librarian with two senior assistants and six support staff. The Cape Coast Polytechnic Library maintains two blocks. These are the Engineering Library situated on the first floor of the Old Administration and the Business Library situated on the top floor of the Electrical/Electronics Block

The Library maintains an open-self collection policy and arranges its book materials by subject, using the Library of Congress(LC) classification system. In line with the Institution's mission of providing practical-oriented education for the students in business, vocational and industrial disciplines, the library stocks mainly books on scientific and technical literature.

MISSION

Among others, the mission of the library is as follows:

  • To play a central role in the development of the institution's curriculum by adopting management and collection policies that will favour the building of a library-stock comprehensive enough to support the various academic programmes
  • To specialize and maintain a library collection that is not only comprehensive but also focuses on scientific and technical literature
  • To double as the Central Workshop of the Polytechnic stocking such equipment and audio-visual resources that will not only enhance the teaching-learning process, but also provide hands-on training and give an added dimension to the practical training provided by the various departmental workshops.
